The National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction, within its authority and in view of the ongoing preliminary investigation of the activities of a Unit for Medically Assisted Reproduction and Cryopreservation Bank in Chania, Greece, has conducted several emergency meetings of the Board and has initiated the following actions: i) to secure the cryopreserved genetic material of the Unit; ii) to facilitate the optimum support of the Unit and the safety of the pregnant women and the newborns, in collaboration with the responsible Ministry and Authorities.

The primary concern and duty of the National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction is to support the legal requests of the interested couples and to ensure the high standards of the practical applications of the methods of Medically Assisted Reproduction in our country.
